Literature Text

From my time of birth up until this day,
You stood by me, loved me, comforted me.
A hatchling safe under mother's wing,
Throughout all the night and into the day.
For my good health and soul you ever pray,
That God stand by me, love me, comfort me.
The seed you planted grew into a tree,
And I hope as strong as you I shall stay.
A repayment I could never fulfill
To meet the deeds you have on me bestowed.
But I shall keep your words close to my heart;
Always shall I seek out and do God's will.
E'er will my mother's love for me be sowed,
And never from this love shall I depart.
"Mother's Love", written for mommies, especially my mommy, for Mother's Day (which is coming soon!)

Done in an Italian ("abba abba") sonnet with a semi-lose iambic pentameter.
